About The role:   

We are seeking an experienced, driven and commercially-focused business partner with the ability to strategically and operationally drive and optimise the Fleet outcomes for the company.

This role is a key strategic business partner to the Executive Director and Senior management to support the business in making sound decisions and execute strategy.

The role’s key objective is to secure significant volumes of new vehicles annually from established motor industry relationships that support the Company’s strong value proposition to rental market and its customers.

The role will lead, influence and manage the Fleet team in achieving good Fleet outcomes for the business by maximizing revenue opportunities and designing good fleet processes and systems.

The role will be strategically and future focused to evaluate the company’s fleet requirements based on seasonality, customer segmentation and demand.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative manager, capable of operating in a highly professional environment.

Skills and experience:  

• To secure fleet through different suppliers using interpersonal skills and business relationships
• Proactively plan procurement with a strong assessment of cost and opportunity commensurate with a ‘total cost of product’ evaluation 
• Holistically consider depreciation, finance, maintenance liability associated with ownership term, panel and mechanical costings and ancillary expenditure such as registration and transportation when evaluating ‘total cost of product’
• To plan and manage the supply of vehicles commensurate the demand for rental services utilising dynamic management practices to deliver variability to fleet levels
• Dynamically manage vehicle procurement and disposal to achieve fluidity of fleet volume through varying supply and disposal
• Overview management of panel repair and insurance relationships to minimise overall fleet cost and provide appropriate outcomes
• Making fleet decisions using deep understanding of the new and used vehicle market and industry
• Future focused on carbon reduction and sustainability strategies
• Strong business acumen or commercial mindset
• Big picture visionary thinking in order to participate in future planning and direction 
• Strong yet empathetic leadership
