The biosecurity and animal welfare policy teams support Ministers, other parts of MPI, and other stakeholders to understand the interconnected parts of the biosecurity and animal welfare systems, and their relationships to other systems. This includes policy work focused on animal welfare, and partnering with industry to achieve biosecurity outcomes. .
You will be joining a great group of people and will influence the shape of critical policy areas that grow and protect New Zealand.
Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
We are looking for a policy analyst to join our team. For this role you will need to be a good communicator capable of working with a range of people with different backgrounds, perspectives and interests. You will enjoy working in a complex and ambiguous policy environment. Strong creative problem-solving skills will be necessary.
Previous experience in the primary industries is not essential, although may be useful for the role. We are after your ability as an analyst and your interest in the environment in which our primary industries operate.
