At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whānau.
We help shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary. We do this by building relationships and understanding the needs of those who receive our services.

Te Puna Hanganga, Matihiko | Infrastructure & Digital – Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education, leads inclusive, accessible and integrated national, digital and physical infrastructure and transport services to the education system.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role
You will support the development and implementation of the planning frameworks to support long term investment planning decisions to upgrade schools to meet the government’s objectives. This will form the basis of the investment plan.
You will also support the Groups property investment and governance boards. This will involve working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to develop robust board content that adds value to decision making processes and facilitate the development of boards as they transition to support a Portfolio, Programme and Project (P3) structured governance model.
This is a challenging role that requires you to make connections across busy teams, allocate work, oversee deadlines, analyse reports, and engage with different regional offices.

You will have exceptional relationship skills and the proven ability to write clear, unambiguous, robust reports, and Cabinet papers. These will clearly outline the Ministry’s rationale for business cases that stand up to internal and external scrutiny and reflect well on the Group.
