At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whānau.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About the role
Reporting to the Director of the Office of the Deputy Secretary, you will provide high-quality, proactive and efficient executive support to the Hautū/Deputy Secretary. This is a busy and diverse role – you will never have two days that are the same. You will take on the role with enthusiasm and your organisation and planning skills will be second to none. Your calm and professional demeanour will shine through at all times, even when things are extremely busy.
You will be experienced at understanding and meeting the needs of the Hautū/Deputy Secretary, and will bring your extraordinary relationship skills to connect with those around you. You will display exemplary initiative, tact, confidentiality and judgement.
If you nurture good working relationships with a wide range of people, enjoy being a representative of the Hautū/Deputy Secretary you support, have exceptional customer service, then this diverse and engaging role is for you.
Mōhou ake | About you
You will be an experienced Executive Assistant, preferably to senior levels in the public service. You will be friendly, approachable, calm under pressure, efficient, proactive and have excellent judgement. You will thrive under pressure, with exceptional ability to prioritise the most urgent of tasks and advanced planning and organisational skills.
You will be experienced working with a wide range of customers and stakeholders and will have exceptional relationship management skills. You will work effectively as part of the wider Hautū/Deputy Secretary team to deliver seamless and proactive service to the Hautū/Deputy Secretary.
