At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whānau.
We help shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary. We do this by building relationships and understanding the needs of those who receive our services.

About our group and team
Te Pae Aronui was established within Te Mahau as part of a wider change to provide the education sector with support and services that are more locally responsive, more accessible, and more integrated. As part of Te Mahau, Te Pae Aronui provides the service design, data insights, regulatory functions, learning and other support our three frontline Te Mahau regional teams, and ākonga rely on. It includes what was previously National Office Sector Enablement and Support (SE&S), Parent Information and Community Intelligence (PICI) and Evidence, Data and Knowledge (EDK) teams, excluding the Chief Economist position.

In this opportunity, you’ll be joining the Community Partnerships team within our ESOL, Migrant, Refugee and International Education team. This a high-performing team with a culture of constructive open-minded debate and working together to make an impact.
Reporting to the Team Leader Community Partnerships, the Senior Advisor will lead and support the design, establishment, and delivery of the Ethnic Communities Learning Hubs (Learning Hubs) initiative within their region. These hubs support learner achievement through educationally powerful partnerships with ethnic communities’ whānau as they navigate the education system.
