The Job Details are as follows: We are currently seeking candidates for aSenior Systems Engineerfor our Platform Engineering team.This role performs high level analysis and design of Backup and disaster recovery systems. Within area of specialization performs consultative role within OCLC expected to provide leadership role for junior team members on technical basis. *Analyze and solve problems in existing systems, or refine current processes for better efficiency *Design and test multiple systems in a timely manner. *Plans and participates in load, capacity, and performance analysis and/or testing. Along with recommending/making improvements/fixes to systems. *Leads in developing and interpreting requirements. *Participates in architectural reviews and plans. *Assists in the implementation of all relevant ISO, FedRamp and GDPR standards within OCLC projects *High degree of accountability to program deliverables, including quality, reliability, performance, and cost *Mentor junior technical staff. Serves as resource on issues of design and automation. *Clear thinker and ability to work with information and problem definitions *Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms Qualifications: *Bachelors degree in a Computer Science related discipline required *3-5 years of backup operations and administration experience. *2-3 years of disaster recovery planning and administration *Ability to implement industry standards within backup and disaster recovery sections *Must have the ability to concentrate on technical projects *High degree of accountability to program deliverables, including quality, reliability, performance, and cost Technical Focus *Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Backup technologies, like Cohesity *Minimum of 3 years experience in disaster recovery planning *Works well with others in implementing significant architectural changes. *Minimum of 1 year development experience with Ansible. *Minimum of 1 year of RedHat experience. *Experience managing Linux virtual machines with VMware. *Understanding of Physical server hardware and how to support these environments Equal Opportunity Employer – minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
