As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high quality code and business value, working alongside engineering peers and technical leads for the design and evolution of new platforms that are streamlining the way that OFX manages Payments, FX Processing and Transactions for our Enterprise Clients, in a fast paced and exciting environment, with a team developing mission critical systems.

On a day to day basis the Software Engineer is actively contributing to the continuous improvement of our technical delivery and participating in the agile processes while positively contributing to discussions and team dynamics. The Software Engineer is responsible for delivering high quality applications, automation and testing code in accordance with industry best practice and OFX guidelines.

What you’ll be doing:

• Working with the tech leads and senior engineers to help improve our coding practices while delivering code, participating in code reviews and driving design of our products and solutions in line with our overall technical roadmap and industry best practices
• Ensuring code is efficient and adheres to OFX coding standards and guidelines and industry best practices
• Participating in design reviews and proof of concepts
• Identifying complex areas of code that require refactoring and technical debt and ensure these are addressed as appropriate
• Engaging with other members of the team including QA, tech leads and product owners and assisting outside of your core skills including deployments, QA and level 3 support when appropriate
• Working collaboratively within the agile team to deliver user stories

What you’ll bring:

• 2-3 years of commercial software development
• Sound knowledge of web technologies
• Proven .NET (Core and Framework) commercial development experience
• An understanding and passion for engineering fundamentals within a devOps culture
• Excellent understanding of Agile development methodology and development practices such as TDD, Kanban, Lean, etc
• Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with unit testing and acceptance criteria frameworks
• Knowledge of relevant application architectures and frameworks
• Experience designing, building and working with RESTful APIs
• Experience working with a Microservices architecture
• Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) product development desired
• Experience with AWS solutions and environments
• Experience in distributed source control system (Git) required
• Commercial experience working with containers such as Docker
• Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and Configuration Management
• Experience working with modern JavaScript, specifically React.js desirable
