Olio Labs (YC23) Looking for Software Engineer at South San Francisco, CA Full Time

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and talented Software Engineer to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the drug-discovery space while contributing to the development of innovative software solutions for our in vivo experimental pipeline. In this role, you will collaborate with our team to develop and deploy software systems that power our preclinical research and drug-screening processes. You will build robust user interfaces, develop a range of internal software tools, manage databases, and streamline data pipelines for improved automation and efficiency. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to discover novel transformative therapies for patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Build front-end and back-end software for drug preparation and delivery systems.
• Develop internal software tools to power our preclinical rodent research program.
• Enhance and expand the capabilities of our large-scale in vivo drug-screening platform.
• Build various applications on top of internal databases, and manage data integrity.
• Develop automations and pipelines to streamline data acquisition and processing.

Must-have Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in Python
• Demonstrated experience in full-stack software development, including popular front-end and back-end frameworks.
• Experience with database systems and cloud services.
• Familiarity with software development best practices. Experience with version control (Git), testing, and documentation are a must. Should have intimate understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong, demonstrated coding experience can substitute for a Computer Science degree. This must include experience working with a production codebase.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing software for microcontrollers or robotics.
• Experience automating complex processes.
• Have built and deployed production-ready user interfaces.
• Experience building web applications.
• Experience/interest in the biotech/drug-discovery industry.
• Familiarity with machine learning algorithms, and experience deploying them at scale.
