About the Opportunity :

We are looking for an Associate Frontend Engineer that is passionate about improving their craft and excited to help us build our next generation of web applications for our customers, merchants and staff.

Working as part of an agile team, you will collaborate with your product manager and fellow engineering team members to deliver product outcomes for our customers. You will be responsible for learning and applying modern software engineering practices to improve the customer experience and deliver high-quality software. You will be guided and mentored by more experienced members of the team to help you develop as an engineer.

How you would contribute to the role :

• Take a customer-focused approach to engineering our web applications
• Write well-structured, clean and testable code
• Use modern frameworks and libraries to ensure we maximise productivity
• Create and maintain automation pipelines to continuously build and push high-quality code
• Strive to develop yourself professionally by broadening your contribution and experience

The bit about you:

• Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript
• An understanding of modern web markup including HTML5, CSS3 and associated technologies (LESS, Sass, styled components)
• Some familiarity with modern frameworks (preferably React.js)
• Some experience building web applications that leverage REST or GraphQL APIs
• Able to use design tools like InVision, Adobe XD/Photoshop, Sketch
• Approach your work with a pragmatic and proactive approach
• Desirable; experience delivering frontend applications using AWS services
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar
