Optim Surgery Center is seeking a full time Medical Records Clerk for our Savannah location.

Job Requirements:

• Organizes and evaluates patient medical records.
• Scans charts and individual documents daily with end of day completion.
• Reviews medical records for accuracy and completeness.
• Files and retrieves organized medical records.
• Makes necessary adjustments to guarantee documents are clean and legible when scanning into the system.
• Tracks chart deficiencies.
• Tracks and updates coding queues and Patient Management variance.
• Retrieves charts from various departments daily.
• Accurately collects and compiles all information for quality improvement (PI) in a timely manner. Maintains a current spreadsheet at all times.
• Answers phones and handles request of information in a confidential, professional and expedient manner.
• Maintains and logs all shred boxes appropriately.
• Follows health system requirements, policy and standards on confidentiality and release of protected health information.
• Reviews all charts for completeness before adding to shred box.
• Utilizes and understands the electronic health record storage system.
• Remains compliant with all HIPAA requirements and regulations.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
