Mō te tūnga | About the role
We have a permanent opportunity as an HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team to support the National Office functions of Quality Practices and Experiences, Māori Partnerships and Communities and Chief Social Worker. These functions support our frontline kaimahi and sets the strategic practice direction, drives service design, quality and improvement, and leads our approach for engaging with iwi, Māori organisations, other partners and communities.
Being an integral part of our wider HR team, the HRBP sits within the strategic team and reports to the Strategic Partner. The purpose of these roles is to work with Senior Managers to develop specific national and regional plans to build the capability and leadership of our people and to ensure we have the right capacity and shape of the workforce to deliver services for tamariki and rangatahi.
A key focus of the role is to guide and support managers to enable our workforce for success in performing their important roles in supporting the frontline to look after our tamariki and rangatahi. This role has a real opportunity to get close to and make a difference in creating new ways in working and helping the business lead and manage its’ large and diverse workforce.

Oranga Tamariki offer an impartial remuneration package, that offers progression annually for experience through tenure. Annual remuneration for this band 18 position starts between $122,258 – $135,397 dependent on experience.
