This position reports to the Utilities Manager and is responsible for assisting with routine inspections and tests of the fire alarm and smoke control systems. This position supports the OHSU mission by providing safe, reliable and complaint life/safety systems.
Specific duties include: visual inspections of fire system, fire sprinkler, and fire damper components; working with other technicians to perform active testing on fire system, fire sprinkler and fire damper components.
This position is expected to work in a team environment through cooperative collaboration to complete their tasks.
High School or GED equivalent
One year of facilities maintenance or trades related experience or successful completion of a Facilities Maintenance technical training program
Basic computer skills and a general familiarization with MS Office applications and internet browsers.
Valid Oregon or Washington driver’s license.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
Associates degree in applicable field of study.
Five years’ experience altering, testing, inspecting, repairing and maintaining fire alarm or suppression systems.
Basic familiarity with
AutoCAD
Basic familiarity with using Oracle eAM.
State of Oregon restricted energy electrician’s license (LEA) or NICET level 1 in Fire Alarm Systems or factory-training certification for Simplex/Grinnell CPU based fire systems networks.
