About the role

The Shotfirer – QCT assists in providing a quality service of bulk explosive delivery to customers in a safe and environmentally conscious manner at all times and works closely with Bench Assistants and MMU Operators on site to manage all tasks associated with loading, tying and firing.

What you will be doing

• Magazine Management;
• Managing the loading, tying and firing of blasts;
• Ability to following drill and blast designs with quality assurance
• Blast clearance management;
• Technical expertise on products, loading and blast patterns;
• Equipment Prestart compliance;
• On bench auditing excellence compliance;
• Handling explosives and Blast site preparation;
• Measuring holes, setting up perimeter fencing;
• Setting up reloading areas  and stemming of holes;
• Ancillary equipment operation;
• Safe driving and TMP compliance;
• Liaison with client regarding planned shots.

What you will bring

• 3+ years Shotfiring experience, (Quarries experience preferred but not essential);
• Proven experience operating an MMU (or similar blast delivery truck);
• Current Class 4 driving license;
• Current Approved Handlers license and Controlled Substance license;
• Knowledge of government regulations for transport, storage and handling of explosives;
• Strong communication and writing skills;
• Strong time management, customer liaison and negotiation skill.
