Oritain Looking for Laboratory Technician – 3 roles available at Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand Full Time

Due to continuing growth, we are currently seeking 3 Laboratory Technician’s to join our team in Dunedin. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests and experiments, analysing and interpreting data, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the laboratory. You will work closely with the Operations and Science teams to ensure accurate and reliable results are obtained. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for science and a desire to contribute to our mission. We have 3 full-time roles available: 2 x Wednesday-Sunday, hours 130pm-10pm and 1 x Tuesday-Saturday, hours 130pm-10pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory tests and experiments according to standard operating procedures
• Analyse and interpret data, and prepare reports summarising the results
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
• Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the laboratory
• Collaborate with the Operations and Science teams to ensure efficient workflow
• Stay updated on relevant scientific advancements and techniques

Requirements

• Having studied in a science field or experience in a related discipline would be favourable
• 1-2 years experience working within a laboratory setting is highly desirable
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software
• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and procedures
