About the role:

Isotrace NZ Ltd is a laboratory facility 100% owned by Oritain, co-located with Oritain at their Central Dunedin headquarters. Oritain is seeking an experienced R & D Technician to join our Research and Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and enhancement of our scientific traceability technologies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in scientific research and be familiar with laboratory procedures and techniques. They will be responsible for assisting in the design, execution, and documentation of experiments as well as analysing data and presenting findings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design and execution of experiments
• Conduct laboratory tests and experiments, ensuring accuracy and precision
• Analyse and interpret scientific data results
• Prepare technical reports and presentations
• Maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Stay updated with industry trends and developments

Requirements

About you:

• Professionally qualified with a BSc, MSc in Analytical Chemistry or equivalent in a relevant field
• Prior experience in a commercial research or laboratory setting
• Experience with scientific testing and analysis techniques
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with an adapatable interpersonable style
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
• Passion for scientific research and innovation
