Oritain Looking for Sample Reception Technician at Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand Full Time

We are currently looking for a Sample Reception Technician to join our Operations team at our Dunedin office. In this role, you will be responsible for timely unpacking, registration, and library management of samples for the laboratory. You will contribute to creating a productive working environment and strive to improve work processes. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Register samples into the required systems upon receipt
• Collect samples from storage and distribute them to subcontractor laboratories
• Track sample movements within database systems
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in sample storage areas
• Stay updated on ongoing programs and manage daily workload
• Manage samples and data according to company systems and protocols
• Execute operational procedures accurately and efficiently

Requirements

• Ideally, at least 1 year of experience in a highly organised environment (e.g., lab technician, hospitality, or warehouse)
• Demonstrated resiliency and ability to work within deadlines
• Excellent level of both written and verbal communication skills in English
• Flexibility to “roll-up your sleeves” and support team members as required
• Strong team orientation
• Motivated and driven mindset
