The Group is structured across two divisions: Ornua Foods and Ornua Ingredients.
Ornua Foods is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including, Dubliner, Pilgrims Choice, Kerrygold, Avantage, Forto, and BEO. Markets are served by production facilities and in-market sales and marketing teams in Africa, Asia, Germany, Ireland, the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East, and the US.
Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products and for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world. Ornua Ingredients is also responsible for managing volatility through de-risking and trading strategies. The business is supported by production facilities in Saudi Arabia, Spain, the UK, the US and by in-market teams in Africa and the Middle East.

Dynamic Working
Ornua have a Dynamic Working policy in place which facilitates flexible hours and hybrid working.
Key areas of responsibility include:
To lead the derivative trading team and strategy for the traded division.
With limited oversight, manages and monitors trading/hedge positions and exposures
Work with external brokers, manage and monitor a multi exchange markets (EU/USA/NZ).
Monitor and control risk positions by researching supply and demand forecasts and market movements.
Trade and hedge within limits set by policy, through understanding of trading practices and procedures.
With limited oversight, work with the accounting and finance departments in determining daily/weekly/monthly position analysis about the short-term strategies/game plans
Actively participates on team to optimize the physical book, develop hedging strategies for team and wider business / customers to maximize earnings.
Promote traded risk capabilities within Ornua Group, to feed into sales and procurement strategies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s / Masters degree
Minimum 5 years experience, preferably commodity related.
Proven track record in Trading and Risk Management
Fluent in English
Demonstrated experience under guidance running a trading book
Proven strategic thinking, decision making and problem-solving skills
Sound knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Excel, power point.
A knowledge of the global agri-food sector an advantage.
Willingness to travel internationally, approx. 15-20%.
