The Group is structured across two divisions: Ornua Foods and Ornua Ingredients.
Ornua Foods is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Kerrygold, Dubliner, Pilgrims Choice, Kerrygold, Avantage, Forto, and BEO. Markets are served by production facilities and in-market sales and marketing teams in Africa, Asia, Germany, Ireland, the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East, and the US.
Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products and for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world. Ornua Ingredients is also responsible for managing volatility through de-risking and trading strategies. The business is supported by production facilities in Saudi Arabia, Spain, the UK, the US and by in-market teams in Africa and the Middle East.

Kerrygold Park is Ornua’s new state of the art manufacturing facility and centre of excellence for the Kerrygold Brand.
The Quality Systems Specialist’s primary role will have responsibility for the Management of the Kerrygold Park (KGP) Food Safety and Quality Management system (FSQMS). This will involve managing HACCP, prerequisite programs, internal audit and all Quality systems policies, procedures, and records. The role is responsible for ensuring the site operates to and retains all required Food Safety Standards such as BRC, Halal, Kosher and relevant customer standards.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Management and continuous improvement of Kerrygold Park FSQMS. Leading site audits and preparation for same. Retention of highest possible grade for all site Standards such as BRC. Ensuring customer standards are embedded in the Kerrygold Park FSQMS. Leading site HACCP team. Execution of Internal audit program annually. Overall responsibility for document control systems at KGP. Customer Complaint Management. Ownership of the site traceability system developing in depth knowledge and oversight of the trace systems. Completion of customer documentation and specifications as required. Site recipe owner. Keeping Quality Team abreast of any changes to relevant legislation. Preparation of KPI reports.
Key Requirements & competencies A third level qualification in Food science / Science / Quality disciplines. HACCP Trained Internal audit trained – QQI Level 6 FSMA Trained (desirable) 5/6 years in a Food Manufacturing environment in dairy/food industry Experience in the Management of Food Safety & Quality Management Systems is essential. BRC (or equivalent) and retail standards experience is essential. Auditing experience is an advantage IT literate with strong Word, Excel and database skills to drive efficiencies Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational, and administrative skills. Flexible and committed attitude with the ability to display initiative. Ability to work to deadlines, under pressure and with a can-do attitude The ability to work well individually and integrate well with operations teams.
