Head of Operations

Our client, a leading organisation based in Dublin 1, is looking to recruit a head of Operations for their head office on a permanent basis. This role is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a passionate and collaborative organisation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing operations support to internal teams and creating a safe and customer environment for customers.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Responsible for the effective management of the day to day operations of the building and its staff.
• Create and maintain strategic plans in the areas of operations, facilities, and service delivery
• Support the Executive Director on capital projects
• Manage and maintain effective relationships with landlords and local authorities
• Working with 3rd party service providers in the delivery of high quality facilities services
• Responsible for planning, monitoring, and managing end-to-end delivery of all on-site Information, Communication and Security systems
• Responsible for the effective management of the bar and retail operations
• Ensure Standard Operating Procedures
• Work with the Senior Management Team to source, develop and nurture key funding local and national partner relationships.
• Oversee purchasing to ensure that all required goods and services are available within agreed costs and quality standards and at the right times.
• Responsible for ensuring an effective Health & Safety, Environment and Sustainability strategy and execution of same in line with good practice and legislation requirements
• Responsible for organisational-wide insurance, regularly reviewing policies and negotiating appropriate cover
• Ensure reports and information to be shared with the Chair and Board of Trustees are completed in a timely manner

Requirements of the position:

• Minimum 5-years’ experience in an operations leadership role within the cultural or hospitality sectors
• Significant strategic and operational senior management experience within a similar role.
• Minimum 3-years’ people management experience including recruiting, managing, and developing high performing teams.
• Demonstrable track record in facilities management.
• Demonstrable working experience of information, communication, and security system management.
• Experience of working with multiple stakeholders
• Strong commercial acumen as well as strategic and financial budget planning and delivery.
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills and a can-do positive attitude.
• Excellent time management with the ability to manage and complete multiple activities at the same time.
• Strong Knowledge of current Irish Health and Safety Regulations and experience of implementing requirements in buildings open to the public and staging events.
• Strong Knowledge and experience of Risk management and insurance.
• Experience with project management and delivery of multiple projects within deadlines.
