Where will I work?

A mix of remote work and in the office (when COVID allows), with your OVO team and onsite with your client.

The role

We’re looking for a forward-thinking Front End Engineer to join our Engineering crew and contribute to the practice. You will work with OVO and client delivery teams to enhance their user experience. You’ll work with all engineering disciplines to ensure great outcomes for the customer and apply “Angular” thinking.

• Build, plan and code great products and oversee the delivery of solutions with our clients who include ASX listed enterprises, start-ups, not-for-profits, and sometimes for our ventures, you could be based in our studio or onsite with our clients.
• Assist in empowering the team to define, refine and incrementally move toward the technical vision whilst delivering great customer experiences.
• Test and debug the deliverables, maintain documentation
• Participate in the collaboration of technical and non-technical leaders to deliver and evolve the vision.
• Engineer delightful front-end experiences to provide accessible and smart results to our clients.
• Analyse user needs, product requirements, and documentation to build platform capabilities.
• Identify and advise technology limitations and propose and educate your client regarding current processes, procedures, and methods.
• Write and maintain your client’s code to meet system requirements, system designs, and technical specifications per quality accredited standards.
• Assist the overall technical program, contribute to the end-user documentation and operational procedures.
• Providing advice and guidance to your client and the OVO Engineering team in developing proposals and strategies for software design activities.

What’s in your toolkit?

• Expert user of Angular with five year’s experience
• Real-world, demonstrable experience building well-designed frontends that create a seamless user experience
• Advanced experience with writing Javascript ES5/ES6 code
• Hands-on experience with state management, ingesting REST API’s and writing unit and E2E tests
• Good knowledge of CSS/SASS and HTML
• Hands-on experience with Foundation, Bootstrap 3/4, Material UI, or similar frameworks
• Understanding of AWS, Azure beyond the basics.
• Technical leadership and the ability to communicate ideas, processes, concepts, and practices.
• A desire to contribute to the OVO Tech practice, the ways of working, and the outcomes we achieve together.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification.

What does the OVO Engineering Practice work on?

We work from mobile through to web-app dev and our crew consists of specialist front and back enders. Our recent work see’s us partnering a VOD storytelling platform, a web app for a non for profit, an energy platform, and payment gateways and that’s just some of it.
