Salary: £34,500 – £44,800 per annum
Hours: 36 hours per week; Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent
As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an SEN Teacher to join our close-knit team at Kestrel House School.
If you are looking to join a dedicated team in a school that will welcome your ideas and forward-thinking to create a positive learning environment for young people, we would like to hear from you.
About the School
Kestrel House School is an independent special educational needs school in Crouch End, North London, for boys and girls, aged 5 – 16 years who have a diagnosis of Autism. The School has a committed and innovative multidisciplinary well-being team, highly skilled teaching and learning staff; we are in a great position to provide our pupils with the best education and care possible.
About the Group
We are part of Outcomes First Group and can promise you plenty of challenges, and a rich variety of opportunities to develop your career. We provide Education and Care across a number of schools and residential homes nationally.
We welcome staff who share our commitment to help children experience better days and better lives. Through ongoing development and training, we ensure our staff are well prepared for their jobs and given every opportunity to extend their skills.
About the role
We require an experienced and qualified teacher who has the ability to make a significant contribution to our school. The successful candidate will be an innovative, reflective practitioner who can demonstrate the willingness to adapt and learn.
You will have specialist knowledge and experience of working with children with special educational needs and/or on the autism spectrum – ASD/SEMH/PMLD. We are looking for an individual with a creative, engaging approach to curriculum design and planning, both within the classroom and also in the wider outdoor learning environment.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people with a range of complex learning needs. You will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how these needs impact upon learning and behaviour in the classroom. Applications are invited from colleagues offering SEN experience, from mainstream schools and other educational settings. The ability to contribute to the development of our school is essential and we believe that energy, passion and a commitment to high standards are key characteristics required.
We are looking for a special individual who is able to help inspire and engage the young people that we serve. This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their skills and experience in a challenging, motivating and highly rewarding environment. Previous experience of working in an SEN environment would be desirable; excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are also just as important.
