Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for working independently and providing administrative support to a department that includes 6 nurses
Represent the department by communicating in a professional and caring manner
Screen calls in a professional manner, provide information, take messages, refer calls as appropriate, and document call information in Epic
Coordinates high volume of incoming faxes; read faxes, make determinations on how to handle each fax, and send emails to nurses to notify of denials
Document authorizations, denials, and requests for clinical records in Epic
Maintain a positive working relationship and provide input on opportunities for improvement in working with contracted payers
Organize, process and maintain departmental accounts payable requests as requested
Schedule Peer-to-Peer calls for concurrent denials per request from Physician Advisor
Screen and distribute mail and schedule requests for meeting rooms
Prepare reports, correspondence and other materials from handwritten drafts or dictation as appropriate
Organize and maintain files to ensure security and appropriate access to records and order supplies from external and internal sources while maintaining supply stock

Candidate Requirements:

2+ years of Administrative experience
Ability to coordinate up to 80 healthcare authorizations, documenting and triaging themSupporting a department of 6 people
Must have strong Microsoft Outlook calendaring experience
Basic to intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills
Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks/functions simultaneously with many interruptions
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and work independently
Maintain smooth office operation and information flow
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Ability to interact with a variety of individuals at all levels of the organization

Pay: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour
