Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation (PIRE) Hiring for Research Assistant II (2023-12) at Remote Full Time

PIRE has a significant national presence in the area of applied science, with funded research projects at its centers on prevention, treatment, and policy research. PIRE scientists and practitioners continually focus on the design and implementation of complex program evaluation strategies and the conduct of research related to health and social issues, and criminal justice. POSITION SUMMARY
PIRE’s Chapel Hill Center is looking for a Research Assistant II/Surveyor to assist with conducting phone surveys. The Surveyor will be asking about the health of people who use drugs. This part-time temporary position will work approximately 10-15 hours per week with hours falling between 8am-7pm EST Monday through Friday, with some weekend hours as needed. The pay range for this position is $18-$23 per hour. This temporary project runs through July 2023, with the possibility of an extension after that. This is a remote position, and a PIRE computer will be provided for use during the project.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Respect for community members of diverse race, ethnicity, language, income/class, gender identity, and/or sexual orientation

· Associate Degree or two-year University/College equivalent

· Minimum of two years of experience in a research environment

· Experience conducting surveys with individuals who use drugs is preferred

· Able to maintain confidentiality

· Able to interact in a culturally appropriate manner with people who use drugs

· Strong attention to detail

· Able to follow instructions and rules

· Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19

· Experience using REDCap

PREFERRED
· Fluency in written and spoken Spanish

SOME PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct anonymous 30-minute phone surveys in both English and Spanish

· Using REDCap to enter survey data

· Answer incoming phone calls
