Overview
A growing body of data shows a strong correlation between the success of a change initiative and how well the people side was managed. Change projects with excellent change management are six times more likely to meet objectives and outcomes. Over the last 15 years, PNNL has developed an enterprise level Change Management team which has shown demonstrated success in guiding change. This position will provide leadership for the ongoing growth and deployment of this capability, not only at PNNL but within the DOE Laboratory complex. This role provides strategic leadership to the continuous improvement of the change approach at PNNL. This role also provides consultation to business leaders on how to achieve their outcomes by focusing on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures.

Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities and accountabilities would include:
Provide thought leadership for PNNL leadership relative to change management to inform decision making
Provide thought leadership to other Labs on the successful establishment of enterprise change management capabilities
Drive for continuous improvement in the approach that we us to manage the change portfolio, bring industry best practices to inform a structured change management methodology to evaluate and plan for the people side of change
Formulate strategy: evaluate how big a change is and who will be impacted in order to develop a customized and scaled strategy for managing the people side of the initiative.
Develop plans: create tailored, comprehensive plans for moving people forward, including a communication, sponsorship, coaching, training and resistance management.
Support other roles: serve as the coach and the go-to person responsible for enabling success with the other roles vital to change management.
Additional responsibilities may include:
Conduct and complete change management assessments
Identify, analyze and prepare risk mitigation tactics
Identify and manage anticipated resistance
Consult and coach project teams
Support and engage senior leaders
Coach managers and supervisors
Support organizational design and definition of roles and responsibilities
Coordinate efforts with other change management professionals
Integrate change management activities into project plans
Evaluate and ensure user readiness
Manage stakeholders
Track and report issues
Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA and 7 years of relevant experience -OR-
MS/MA or higher and 5 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in leading change in large, complex organizations
Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with leaders at all level of the organization
A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process
Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent active listening skills
Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere
Forward looking with a holistic approach
Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics
Problem solving and root cause identification skills
Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization
Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts
Change management certification or designation desired
Passionate about mentoring and developing staff
Preferred: Demonstrated experience in building or deploying enterprise change management capability within a large, complex organization
