WHAT IS OUR CHALLENGE? (Fast, Resilient, Accurate)
Who is in our tribe?
Our tribe is a highly motivated development group, working on the global delivery of trading applications. We are a highly collaborative, fast-moving bunch, operating with a DevOps mindset. More importantly we enjoy what we do and have fun doing it. Our developers work closely with our Data Science teams to deploy Machine Learning models at scale across our business. To do this we are building reusable componentry to cover all manner of requests that empower our users to deploy and test innovative solutions as quickly as possible in real world scenarios. We use the best tool for the job and are not constrained by language choice (Java, Scala, C# and python are all in use) and our preference is to host on the cloud as it gives us the gives us access to the power and flexibility that we need to run our applications.
We love streaming, and our default is real-time processing. This does bring its challenges, but we don’t shy away from a problem because it’s hard. If we can do it the right way, we will.
What can I expect from the role?
As a new member of the tribe, you will go through a significant on-boarding program. This will involve activities to get to know our people and our systems. In the first 7 weeks you will spend time working with various squads to see how they work and learn about their domain. You will also work with a group of graduates doing activities like code boot camp and a graduate project, which will be on a real-world project so you can experience how to tackle a project and use some of the technologies that we typically use in the tribe, all in a safe space designed for learning. Following on-boarding you will be assigned to a squad where you will work with other software engineers, product owners and QAs to deliver features that create customer value. Under the guidance of more experienced engineers, the learning will continue. You will work on tasks like other members of the squad, to build your knowledge of the domain and gain application development skills. You will work on systems that handle a high throughput of messages with low latency that employ streaming and event driven architectures. These systems are highly distributed and built to scale globally.
We are looking for a people who have recently graduated from a software engineering course and who know that their passion is high performance application development. An interest in or knowledge of sports and sports betting, while not being essential, will make the job easier and more fun.
