PAL Aerospace Hiring For Tool Crib Operator at Comox, BC Full Time

PAL Aerospace is a proud partner of Airbus Defence & Space for the Government of Canada’s Fixed Wing Search and Rescue aircraft replacement (FWSAR) program. PAL Aerospace is responsible for In FWSAR Service Support (ISS) ranging from working alongside DND at 1st line to performing at Depot level the maintenance not undertaken by Royal Canadian Air Force Squadrons. PAL’s Depot level work also includes the embodiment of aircraft modifications and the conduct of Special Inspections.

In an effort to expand our current team, PAL Aerospace is currently looking for a Tool Crib Operator for the FWSAR MOB in Comox BC.

The Tool Crib Operator will report directly to the Warehouse Team Leader.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Controlling the issue and return of all tools used in the PAL FWSAR Tool Control system and ensuring that replacement tools are properly etched;
• Maintaining the master official tool checklists for all FWSAR tool control containers at the MOB;
• Coordinating/conducting the calibration of STE and other tooling as required IAW the applicable usage/condition schedule.
• Maintaining the master copy of the FWSAR etch code record;
• Investigating, reporting, recording and replacing lost tools;
• Coordinating Unsatisfactory Condition Reports (UCRS), as appropriate, on the tool control system and tool control tools;
• Liaison (via the Sqn TCC) with ATESS CFTCCS and ordering equipment/material as required to support the CC295 (i.e., stencils, tags, tag boards, etc.);
• Coordinating requests for new issue of tools or tool control equipment for FWSAR support;
• Inspecting tool boards/kits and ensuring that unserviceable tools are removed and replaced with serviceable items at least annually;
• Maintaining an efficient and high standard tool control system in support of FWSAR;
• Briefing supervisors and technicians on their responsibilities in applying the PAL FWSAR Tool Control System procedures in an efficient and correct manner;
• Applying etch codes, and serial numbers in accordance with the CFTO for locally produced tool containers;
• Being completely familiar with CFTO C-05-005-021/AM-000 and related publications;
• Providing and controlling tools used by contractor Mobile Repair Party (MRP);
• Reporting all air incidents involving tools (via the Sqn/MRO TCC); and
• Other tasks as assigned by the CFO Lead.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of relevant aerospace Engineering experience;
• Experience of aerospace Tool Control Management considered an asset;
• Successful completion of the PAL FWSAR on-boarding training (to be provided);
• Successful completion the DND DRMIS training (to be provided);
• Function effectively in oral and written English;
• Be suitable for Level II – Secret clearance; and
• Be suitable for ITAR / CCG clearance
