Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an intermediate software tester to join us here in Wellington. The successful candidate will have a passion for building high quality, scalable, secure and robust applications. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality across the design, development and maintenance of PartsTrader applications.

Our software has undergone a transformative journey, continuously incorporating innovative features while preserving the reliability of our existing code. Together with the ever-changing needs of our valued customers, you will have a fantastic opportunity to showcase your technical expertise and creative problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and maintain robust testing plans and use cases for new features developed within your team.
• Ensure that quality is considered throughout all levels of our application lifecycle.
• Work in an agile environment that focuses on delivering value, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Provide subject matter expertise on test best practices and tools.
• Understand and take responsibility for software deployed to Production and Pre-Production environments, ensuring it is functioning correctly and performing adequately.
• Manage your own performance and staying up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

What a day as a PartsTrader Tester might look like:

• Attend your team’s morning standup where you’ll share progress and raise any issues or blockers with the rest of the team.
• Add new automation tests to cover new functionality that your team’s added.
• Meet with your business stakeholders to demo the latest and greatest features you have helped the team implement.
• Mentor and coach other team members in the squad about best practices in quality.
• Get involved with the wider test team on how to improve quality controls across the organisation.
• Incorporate quality into everything we do at PartsTrader.

Skills And Experience

• Proven ability to write and maintain automation tests.
• Experience in Cypress or Playwright.
• Proven full stack testing experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A great attitude and personality, with an eagerness to get work done.
