A Tier 1 automotive supplier is seeking a Purchasing Specialist in the Athens, AL area.

Title: Accounting Clerk II

Location: Athens, AL Area

Employment: Part time, Temporary

Salary: $38-47 per hour (24 hours/week)

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting Clerk II position will be responsible for the day-to-day functions of AP and AR: monitoring, reconciling, and processing timely and accurate AP payments; will assist in additional accounting tasks and provide support in monthly and yearly closings.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or bachelor’s in accounting preferred
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Experience using an ERP
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Working with a multi-cultural environment is a plus

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Work closely with Accounting / Finance supervisor, supplier, and customer accounting departments.
• Review, verify and record supplier and customer payments and transactions related to AP and AR.
• Generate and post non-production AP and AR invoices.
• Process supplier payments in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Verify and investigate discrepancies, by reconciling vendor and customer accounts.
• Generate and manage detailed AP and AR aging reports.
• Key and post monthly journal entries into ERP system and support month end closing.
• Prepare bank deposits and assist in reconciling monthly credit card statements.
• Work in conjunction with Sales, Purchasing and plant Receiving to ensure AP and AR accuracy.
• Assist in year-end close; compile and provide information for yearly financial audit.
• Provide assistance and support to company personnel.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Duties and responsibilities performed normally require special physical requirements including sitting, standing, walking, pushing, puling, grasping, and the repetitive use of hands as well as good vision.
• Will be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to fifteen pounds.
