About this Role
At Paychex, a Product Design Lead’s primary responsibility is to clarify, understand, and document the goals of a project and the core problems to be solved, then lead with user-focused solutions within our business constraints while also leading a team of designers through related work. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and driving adoption of processes and methodologies to achieve the UX Strategy. You will identify areas of need for design direction, lead user-focused thinking across product portfolios, and conduct and lead design reviews with designers at key project milestones, and steward projects into best-in-class experiences. You will guide projects to align with documented goals by empowering the UX team to drive innovative approaches.
Your days will be filled with…
Acting as leader and designer on teams, providing user-driven design solutions, user flows, prototypes, and high fidelity UI designs that meet project and strategic goals.
Setting standards for design need assessments in formative stages of projects.
Setting standards for design language, collaboration processes, and tools amongst the UX team and within and across project teams.
Contributing to formation of UX strategy.
Defining and tracks key behavioral analytics to clarify usability objectives and measure success.
Ensuring design solution approaches and major milestone deliverables align with company UX strategy and standards. Conducts reviews and approves design deliverables to maintain integrity of design language.
Proactively identifying common UX elements across project teams and manages shared design solutions where appropriate.
Providing feedback on work output to User Experience Designers and serves as a mentor on design standards, tools and processes
Identifying and escalating to management project deliverables that do not meet UX strategy and standards.
Identifying project and team level resource issues that impact quality of UX delivery so that appropriate assignments can be planned and executed.
Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the user experience function.

Requirements
You’ll bring…
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Visual, Motion, Interaction, Information Architecture, HCI, UX or related area of study
Minimum 5 years of experience in a UX design role or the related industry experience
Background in User Experience, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), UI design, and usability
Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion
Demonstrated experience leading all the facets of the design process
A passion and high proficiency for clear information design
Ability to example and lead the execution of user research, visual design, UI design, interaction design, and prototyping.
Demonstrated ability to work with design systems and standards
Experience working with Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite and related programs
Solid communication and collaboration skills
