Technical Lead (remote within Ireland)

Our client is a dynamic and innovative company who develop leading edge IoT technology solutions for the corporate sector. Due to continued growth, they are now hiring a Technical Lead. The successful candidate will be working on a state-of-the-art smart highways project, incorporating bleeding-edge sensor and communication technologies. The role will require interaction with senior stakeholders, both business and technical. This role is fully remote within Ireland and is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious, highly professional software developer to join a rapidly expanding company operating in a high growth market. In this role you will:

• Develop and drive execution of comprehensive, highly effective software for sophisticated new technology for a smart highways project.
• Work with stakeholders on project plans and decisions.
• Coordinate with the client on technical requirements.
• Lead development team and contribute to the codebase.
• Travel occasionally to site and meet customers.
• Rapidly become knowledgeable and capable of contributing meaningfully to discussions regarding customer requirements.

Candidate profile:

You are comfortable working with all kinds of stakeholders, including customers, managers, hardware developers, architects, field engineers etc. You have excellent spoken and written English and you have strong logical and creative problem-solving skills. Technically, here are the boxes:

• Minimum 5 years of development experience
• Experience working across the full software development lifecycle, from creating domain-driven design solutions to integrating them within existing cloud infrastructure
• Cloud platform experience (AWS preferable, also Azure or Google)
• Knowledge and experience with application containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
• Experience in at least two of C, C++, Python, JavaScript
• Proficiency in at least one high-level language (C, C++, Python, JavaScript)
• Proficiency in the use of source control systems, specifically git via GitHub and BitBucket
• Knowledge of software build deployment systems
• Use of Jira, Confluence, and Wiki-style documentation systems

(NB – EC passport or current Irish Stamp work authorisation required.)
