Overview
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Prince Rupert terminal is recruiting for an Operator to join the team. This position reports to the Operations Supervisor in the Natural Gas Liquids business unit (NBU), part of Pembina’s facilities division. The Natural Gas Liquids Business Unit is involved in the fractionation, terminaling, and storage of our specification products throughout North America.

Summary of Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Ensure the inbound and outbound rail traffic is managed safely and efficiently;
• Coordinate rail movements within the terminal;
• Compile data, and prepare & maintain an updated yard list with full identification of all inbound / outbound rail cars;
• Connect railcars to the facility, coordinate with Lead Operator to initiate offloading to storage;
• Disconnect railcars from the facility and prepare railcars for release into the railyard;
• Conduct pre and post ship loading inspections;
• Assist the operations team to prefill the ship loading infrastructure; moor and unmoor the LPG ships; and hook up and disconnect the ship loading hose;
• Adjust the ship loading hose to accommodate the tide swing;
• Escort crew members on and off the ship, escort them to transportation;
• Understand and adhere to marine / facility security protocols;
• Assist with facility maintenance activities;
• Conduct routine facility rounds and security checks;
• Learn the facility process flow, PID’s and control narrative;
• Participate in emergency response exercises;
• Identify operational and safety improvements;
• Actively support and participate in SSER initiatives, including safety meetings, Hazard Identification and Near Miss reporting, Incident Investigations and Positive Safety Recognition;
• Ability to work a rotational shift schedule; and
• Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Railyard, marine and /or facility operations experience is highly desirable;
• Knowledge and experience using Borque Yardmaster, SAP, Agentry, TARS, Microsoft applications, and SharePoint would be an asset;
• Ability to analyze data, and exhibit judgement in making, and implementing strategic decisions;
• Demonstrate a strong safety conscious attitude;
• Ability to communicate effectively with various groups; both verbally and written;
• Demonstrate a positive attitude, act professionally and respect others opinions;
• Exhibit attentiveness, operational awareness and be actively engaged;
• Demonstrate and encourage teamwork within all operational teams; and
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.
