Publishing Assistant, Penguin Canada (1-year contract – Toronto, Ontario)

We’re looking for a Publishing Assistant to join our Penguin Canada team.
You pride yourself on your keen attention to detail and organizational skills. You work well both independently and as a member of a fast-paced team. You’re passionate about books and interested in learning more about how we create and bring them to life. You live in Toronto, Ontario. Does this sound like you? Your contribution:
At Penguin Canada, we publish a wide range of fiction, non-fiction, and lifestyle titles. Reporting to the Publisher and Associate Publisher, you will help support the books across our imprint.
We are looking for someone based in Toronto, Ontario with exceptional attention to detail and strong follow-up skills who will be able to prioritize and handle several projects at once.
A commitment to understanding and anticipating the needs of our team is of paramount importance. Well-developed project management skills are required for this role, as are a passion for learning more about the book industry and an enthusiasm to support our editorial team and authors.
The successful candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter committed to meeting deadlines, with an ability to proactively ask questions and multitask. They should enjoy reading broadly.

We currently are permitting most employees to work from home; however, applicants for this role must be located within commuting distance of our Toronto office in anticipation of our eventual return to the workplace. In order to ensure the safety of our colleagues and guests we currently have a mandatory vaccination policy in place.
