SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position is responsible for evaluating, providing and improving nursing services for patients through efficient and effective planning, directing, coordinating and controlling of material and human resources. This position is necessary to improve throughput of patients across the organization by utilizing the nursing process for assessment and triaging of patients and engaging physician collaboration to further enhance the effective movement of patients across the organization. Furthermore, this position is required to provide coordination of staff and patient services with all House Managers/Supervisors across the organization with the intent of creating improved responsiveness to patient needs. Provide overall strategic project management, facilitation, and on-going maintenance of a centralized staff scheduling/deployment system utilizing a software platform to manage staff. Identify opportunities to enhance outcomes, implementation and maintenance of the enterprise scheduling software. This position is responsible for interviewing and hiring the right fit of staffing associates for the organization. In addition, this position supervises their orientation, and participates in continuous evaluation of their practice. This position also includes the supervision and continuous evaluation of the Staffing Office Associates that need clinical knowledge of all Penn State Health units to ensure optimal staffing decisions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Associate’s Degree in Nursing 4 years of project management, logistics, or business experience required.
Prior Leadership Experience and/or Supervisory Experience.
Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
