Classification: Full-time.
Compensation: $60,000-$65,000 Salary and benefits

Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive hands-on General Accountant to join our growing team. Must have strong accounting and business operations skills and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Duties include processing accounting functions including maintenance of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, Corporate credit card, balance sheet reconciliations, spending tracking, monthly closing, timesheets review, new hire process, manage and maintain business insurance accounts and leases; lead, organize and meet deadlines for a wide variety of job assignments and other tasks as assigned. Advanced degree in Business or Accounting required. Minimum 2-3 years experience. He or she will also be responsible for helping with all audit and ledger preparation, the annual Budget process, and supporting the Operations and Finance Controller with all finance related matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for accounting functions of PA USA which includes general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, notes receivable, and fixed assets.

• Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining accounting policies and procedures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), industry trends, and best practices.

• Record and research financial information

• Maintain and oversee accounting procedures and processes including but not limited to AP, AR, Payroll, Treasury and General Accounting

• Work with the Operations and Finance Controller to prepare financial reporting.

• Responsible for monthly reconciliation and maintenance of all general ledger accounts in preparation of month-end financial statements, including journal entries, estimates relating to normal entries (i.e., depreciation rates & methods, discount on contributions receivable, accounts receivable allowances, etc.) and any special schedules required.

• Enter journal entries into the accounting software

• Participate in accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.

• Process annual 1099s

• Maintain annual Charitable Certifications with each state via Labyrinth

• Maintain annual leases on all office spaces and storage facilities

• Assist with onboarding and off boarding PA USA staff.

• Assist in planning the bi annual staff retreats

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with an emphasis in Accounting

• Previous accounting experience (5 years minimum)

• Thorough knowledge of non-profit accounting. (2 years minimum)

• Knowledge of Sage Intaact Accounting Software preferred

• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, nonprofit fund accounting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Exceptional organization, time management, and delegation skills.

• Professional demeanor and willingness to cooperatively participate on a team in a mission-based organization.

Desirables:

• Effective in working with a diverse and multicultural team of colleagues

• Direct work experience with budgets, forecasting, financial analysis, and fund accounting.

Work Schedule:

• This position primarily works Monday – Friday, 9 – 5, additional hours may be required as needed. Some work days will be remote.
