Since 2007, Triode has delivered electronic assembly services to clients around the world on a contract manufacturing basis. The products we assemble on their behalf are used for a wide variety of purposes, including many high dependency applications. These include: Aerospace, Military, Medical, Marine, Transportation, Sports Measurement and Industrial controllers.

About the role:

We are looking for a versatile Purchasing Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement activities related to electronic components, materials, and services required for our manufacturing operations. Your role will be broad, varied and hands-on. This position is a full-time role requiring 40hrs a week with two Work From Home (WFH) days a week available.. This role is based in Wairau Valley, Auckland, New Zealand.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing procurement strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams, providing input on component selection and working with suppliers to get the best customer outcomes
• Stay updated on market trends, emerging technologies, and sourcing options for cost savings and improved product performance..
• Source suitable alternative components to mitigate supply chain risks and ensure production continuity.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate favorable terms, and foster continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement for enhanced efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to a strong Health, Safety and Wellbeing Culture
• Any additional ad hoc duties

Skills / Experience:

• Experience in purchasing for Manufacturing
• Knowledge of electronics is highly desirable
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or similar role in an electronic contract manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of electronic components, materials, and industry-specific procurement processes.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in using procurement and inventory management software systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards related to electronic manufacturing.
