We are looking for a Hyperconverged Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert atPeterson Air Force Base. This rolesupports SIPRNet Enterprise ModernizationTeam in the operations and maintenance of HCI configuration and any otherrelated system items. This position is in support of a 24/7/365 EnterpriseManagement Center, which will require some shift work.We are looking for a candidate that has deep technical depth and hands onexpertise in data center technologies including virtualized storage,computing and networking, network virtualization and orchestration, strongknowledge of Storage, L2/L3 protocols, and VxLAN.The person that fills this role will be expected to perform the following:Perform daily operations of the Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) tomanage compute and storage operations, to include remote provisioning ofcompliant virtualized hosting services. Diverse background in supportingenterprise IT data centers, highly desiredOperate and maintain servers, (Windows and Linux are a plus),storage, backup, and Dell EMC Hyper-Converged VxRail systemPatch and upgrade system configurations and provide expertise for storage,and server virtualization technologies including: Dell VxRail, vSAN,VMware, and data protectionProvide successful assessments, upgrades, knowledge transfer anddocumentation for Air Force customerAutomate network setup using Smart Fabric Services for VxRail automating thenetwork setup and accelerating deploymentCreateoperational and installation manuals for the Enterprise ManagementCenter to facilitate ease of service and transfer knowledge to the serviceagentsStrong technicalunderstanding of technology, including the various hardware(Dell – VxRAIL, Integrated Data Protection Appliances), software(VMware, Windows, Avamar, BMC suite, Solarwinds), and networking systemsSupport Tier 2 and 3 services; Resolve morecomplex issuesrequiring detailedsystems and applications knowledge;Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with patience, acustomer-friendly attitude, and the ability to work in a team environment;Collaborate effectively with other staff to solve complex problemsOther duties as assignedIn order to be considered, the ideal candidate will have the followingexperience:Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating the Dell HCI VxRail systemExpert level VMware 6.5 and above knowledgeProficiency and experience with VMware Products, like vSphere and vSANDell Server and Storage experienceVMware NSX-T experience is desirableVMware SRM and vRealize Automation Orchestration is a plusEffective oral and written communicationsTravel requirement – 25% first year or as neededBachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or 5 years equivalentexperience with virtualized environmentsVMware Certified Professional 6.5 (VCP5-DCV) or better – RequiredPreferred, but not required certifications:Red Hat Certified Engineer (Version 5 or greater)Microsoft Certified Solution ExpertDoD 8570 certificationPeraton drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to thefarthest reaches of the galaxy.
