Pets at Whitford Spa and Stay Looking for Dog Day Care Assistant at Whitford, Auckland Full Time

Passionate Auckland Boarding Kennel, Cattery and Doggy Daycare with on-site Grooming and Training are seeking Kennel Assistants.

We have both full time and part time positions available.

We are seeking individuals who are as passionate as we are when it comes to providing the best care to animals in our care with a professional mannerism and ability to interact with our human clients.

You must be confident working with both small and large dogs. We also have cats and other animals such as rabbits, birds and reptiles come into our care. Initiative is a must as we run a social kennel where we provide lots of activities and interaction for them.

The ideal applicant for this role will have the following traits:
– A good understanding A good understanding of animal behaviour and body language.
– Must be physically capable and able to work independently including using their own initiative.
– Must have basic knowledge of dog behaviours and training with general pet care & preparing food
– Recognise signs of good / ill health and well-being & be able to act on it.
– Confidence in dealing with not just the animals but their human owners too
– General cleaning
– Self-management and organisational skills
– Punctual and reliable with a great work ethic
– Must have own transport and driving license
– Ability to work as part of a team

Please note we are located rurally in Whitford and there is no public transport so a driver’s license is essential.

This role does entail weekend work, split shifts along with work on Public Holidays and over Christmas/ New Years as our high season.

We are looking for employees to start immediately. Training will be available and provided to the right candidate.

Salary: $21.20 – $24.00 per hour
