ROLE SUMMARY
The manager will perform day to day support functions related to Pfizer’s Internet and cloud DMZs. Specific responsibilities include performing analysis for Internet offload, responding to incident tickets, supporting design and implementation of new cloud services, and updating related support documentation. The position will focus on DMZ and Cloud engineering which will also encompass working with application support teams, Global information security and monitoring/automation teams.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead engineers in the evaluation and definition of DMZ and Cloud design standards, including detailed technical design documents and maintaining physical and logical diagrams.
Lead collaboration efforts in the research, development, and deployment efforts of new cloud services, technologies and features.
Lead DMZ related infrastructure changes from requirements to implementation, including detailed design, analysis, testing and optimization.
Develop efficient and resilient DMZ designs to ensure network availability to core data centers and cloud services.
Assist and collaborate with other technical teams in support of extended DMZ strategies such as “IOT” Internet of Things and guest wireless.
Assist and collaborate with other teams in development of tools for DMZ Infrastructure automation.
Coordinate and engage external vendors for solution evaluation and customization.
Collaborate with cross-organizational teams, FW engineering, Network Operations, Global Information Security, DDI engineering to develop global standards for Cloud services
Provide engineering-level support for Network Operations, including maintenance activities and off-hour support.
Execute defined periodic failover testing to ensure business continuity.
Install and configure network hardware and software in conjunction with global security and monitoring requirements.
Identify continual service improvement opportunities and assist with implementing associated changes.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity or engineering
5 years’ experience working in a business/corporate environment working in a network capacity
Demonstrated experience with IP routing and the different protocols in a large IP network ( BGP experience preferred )
Demonstrated experience in working with cloud services such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure
Demonstrated knowledge with network Security components such as FWs and IDSs
Solid understanding of IP protocols/service/functionality (DNS, VPN/Tunnels, VLANs, NAT, Firewalls, LACP, 802.1Q trunking, VRRP), Knowledge of Layer-2 network technologies including Ethernet WAN, Knowledge of IP related protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP-4, OMP, and MPLS
Proven ability to troubleshoot/debug issues, determine causes, and drive resolution.
Experience with internet DMZ design, network and security components
Ability to create Low Level Designs (LLDs) engineering documents associated with the design, deployment, integration, or decommissioning of Pfizer Network equipment;
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous network management experience gained through academic research and skills gained from working experience
Must possess skills necessary to evaluate IP network and security components
Ability to create Low Level Designs (LLDs) engineering documents associated with the deployment, integration, or decommissioning of Pfizer Network equipment;
Manage DMZ associated processes and maintain up-to-date and accurate procedural documentation through collaboration with other engineering teams.
A working knowledge of ITIL framework
