PFS Engineering Ltd Looking for Estimator at Hamilton East, Waikato Full Time

PFS Engineering provides specialist expertise in industrial / construction / mechanical design, manufacture, on site installation and maintenance. Our aim is to develop partnerships and relationships, to understand the needs and requirements of our clients, and to ensure expectations are exceeded.

We are currently looking for an experienced Estimator to be part of our team.   

The ideal candidates would be from an Engineering background in a similar role for a minimum of 3 years. A recognized relevant qualification; either in Engineering at Tertiary level, or a Trade certificate equivalent is preferred, but not essential. 

Special consideration will be given to a candidate who is from a recent / current trade background with an eye for detail and a developed desk top skillset, preferably with established New Zealand networks and experience. Previous quoting / tendering experience in the engineering sector is desirable for this role.

You will need to be able to demonstrate most of the following: 

• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Understand market pricing and material costing
• Understand times for manufacture
• Have been exposed to estimating 
• Maintain and develop relationships with clients and the supply chain
• Be an excellent communicator both verbal and written
• Understand Stainless, Aluminum, Structural and MS fabrication.
• Have an understanding of pressure piping and vessels
• Arrange site meetings and attend client walk arounds to scope the job
• Must have full driver’s license.
• Be a team player
• Proficient Microsoft Excel and Word skills
• Exposure to Solidworks or similar 3D packages would be advantageous    

The successful person will need to be able to liaise with clients and suppliers (partners). 

This is not a desk bound job, you will need to manage and grow a portfolio of the top performing clients in the industry who demand excellence in price, quality and delivery.

This role will report to the Estimating Manager and be accountable for timely and detailed estimates. Importance is given to liaising with internal and external clients to grow your portfolio.

This is a salary-based role for a 45-hour working week. 
The salary range is $70,000 – $100,000 per annum.
