The Pilgrims Rest Nursing Home is a 35 bed Elderly care facility on the outskirts of the beautiful town of Westport Co Mayo. The successful applicant will work as part of the Nursing and Care team at the Pilgrims Rest to implement the Care of 35 Residents, under the supervision of, and reporting to the Nurse in charge.

Residents of the Pilgrims Rest Nursing home have the opportunity to take part in meaningful , daily activity that helps to maintain or improve their health and mental wellbeing. They will be encouraged to take an active role in choosing and defining activities that are meaningful to them. The role of the activities Co Ordinator is to work with the residents in the planning, organizing & delivery of daily activities.

Knowledge Required: Candidates must have a certificate in or be currently studying for FETAC /QQI Level 5 or equivalent, with Care of the elderly module. Knowledge of; Safeguarding Vulnerable adults ,Management of behavior that challenges, dementia care, will be an advantage.

Skills Required Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, ability to use initiative, fluency in English, essential, written and spoken.

Attitude required Candidates must be flexible and available to work allocated hours.

Willingness to learn new knowledge and skills relevant to the job through; Online, in house training and supervision.
