Pima County is seeking a motivated, experienced, and resource-focused
individual to fill a Trades Maintenance Foreman position within the
Natural Resources Division of the Natural Resources, Parks and
Recreation Department (NRPR). The successful candidate will help lead
our Special Projects team which performs a variety of construction and
maintenance projects on the nearly 240,000 acres encompassing NRPRs
ranches, natural resource parks, and open space properties.
The applicant should have strong interpersonal and communication skills
as they will be coordinating with other sections within the Division,
with other Divisions of the Department, and other Departments across the
County, as well as working regularly with County contractors and
vendors.
The Division also manages 13 active cattle ranches, iconic natural
resources parks such as Tucson Mountain Park, Colossal Cave Mountain
Park, and Agua Caliente Park, and a variety of open space properties
within Pima Countys Conservation Lands System. The successful candidate
will work in areas with venomous reptiles and bees/wasps and cacti, and
in areas near the US-Mexico border. The divisions resource management
responsibilities provide critical leadership and solutions for the
implementation of the Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan (SDCP), one of
the most ambitious conservation programs by a local government.
Minimum Qualifications
(1) Completion of an industry-recognized apprenticeship program
inpark, ranch, and/or open space infrastructure maintenance and
construction orheavy equipment haulingandfour years of journey-level
experience inpark, ranch, and/or open space infrastructure maintenance
and construction orheavy equipment hauling,includingone year of lead or
supervisory experience inpark, ranch, and/or open space infrastructure
maintenance and construction orheavy equipment hauling.
OR:
(2) Six years of journey-level experience inpark, ranch, and/or open
space infrastructure maintenance and construction orheavy equipment
haulingincludingone year of lead or supervisory experience in the same
trade.
OR:
(3) Four years of experience with Pima County as a TM Specialist or TM
Specialist-Senior inpark, ranch, and/or open space infrastructure
maintenance and construction orheavy equipment haulingincludingone year
of lead or supervisory experience (which may be concurrent with general
experience).
