Responsibilities:
The Senior Engineer will report to the CTO and will play an important role not only the development of the product but the transition from the current software vendors back in-house.

• Work onsite with current software vendors to familiarize yourself with the code base, under their current development team and workflows.
• Work to shift the responsibility of code and technical infrastructure from the current vendors, to the in-house engineering team.
• Be a conduit between the business and the current vendors, clearly reporting technical progress and plans.
• Work with the CTO to build out the product roadmap and manage release timeframes.
• Develop capability to become an agile organisation.
• Become the voice of technology within the business; guide the technical decisions with your wealth of experience.
• Build out their automated testing processes and drive continuous integration and delivery.
• Manage version releases and software documentation, following industry standards.
• Collaborate amongst the broad team which includes non-technical stakeholders.
• Work onsite with current technical development partners to learn code base and development strategy.
• Work with technical development partners to build and write code and take on more to bring back in-house.
• Be a conduit between the business and the technical development partners updating and translating technical progress and plans.
• Work with the in-house team on design and strategy and provide thought leadership on how to best approach ideas and innovation.
• Review software design plans with CTO and manage build timeframes.
• Work within agile frameworks.
• Automate testing and drive continuous development and integration.
• Configuration in Git repositories.
• Action software build and release package processes.
• Preparation of Software Design Description documents.
• Collaborate amongst a broad team which includes non-technical stakeholders.

Skills & Experience:
Key requirements for the role include:

• PHP Development experience working within Laravel frameworks
• Agile Development Methodologies experience.
• Experience providing unit testing, continuous development and integration
• Experience in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, VueJS, TailwindCSS
• Experience in MVC and RESTful APIs
• Experience in SQL Programming
• Experience with Git & Pull Requests
• Experience with Business Intelligence and Big Data reporting
• Must have strong verbal communications skills.
• Demonstrated analytical skills
• Thorough documentation skills
• Demonstrated well-structured approach to work
• A passion for design and quality
• A natural ability to whiteboard ideas and solutions

This is an opportunity to take a lead role in a growth business by being the technical expert and be both hands on and being involved in the businesses technical direction. Preference for Melbourne based person however can consider Sydney. There can by a mix of home and office based work.
