Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant. Full training will be provided together with an opportunity to develop skills across all areas of the accounting function and work towards a career pathway within our business.

This is a full-time position based at our National Head Office and Distribution Facility at East Tamaki, Auckland. We will provide you with on-the-job training and you will become an integral part of our team and culture.  Remuneration will be negotiated. You will report directly to the Finance Manager and may undertake other tasks as required by other key personnel.

The Role
As the Accounts Assistant, you will support the Finance team to deliver continuous improvements to the accounting processes and adapt to new challenges. You will be responsible for:
 

• Daily processing of Accounts Payable & Receivable.
• Complete daily bank reconciliations
• Assist with month-end accounting processes.
• Communicating with internal and external parties to resolve any queries
• Supporting the finance team with their overall objectives.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Strong numeracy skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to interact with people at all levels in the business
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail 
• Strong time management skills, able to focus and remain on task, and the ability to operate efficiently
• IT literate with intermediate experience in excel
• Our ideal candidate would have some experience in accounts work, but we are happy to train an enthusiastic young person who is positive, motivated, and good with numbers.  
• Some Tertiary Qualification in Accounting is a must.
