The Role:
Join our Branch Accountant team which will support exciting changes for the future needs of PlaceMakers. This role is based at our National Office in Penrose, Auckland. You will be joining our wider Finance & Commercial team in this leadership role. As well as managing the accounting needs of 4-5 branches this role will also see you manager a team of Branch Accountants. Working alongside them and tailoring your leadership style to support them to achieve their goals and drive performance.
This role is instrumental in providing an operational accounting & support function to ensure that all financial and planning obligations are met while providing Branch Operators & National Office with oversight and assurance of the integrity of statements and reporting. Along with day-to-day generalist accounting functions, you will also be responsible for the following –
• P&L and Balance Sheet reviews with Branch Operators
• Preparation of Monthly and Year-End reports, both internal and external
• Maintaining the Fixed Asset register
• Assist with Capex requests
• Annual Budget reviews
• Monitoring and analysis of branch performance against targets
About you:
We are looking for a Chartered Accountant who is commercially astute and who has a real passion for what you do and leading a team. As well as System aptitude. With a strong customer focus approach and can build strong relationships with stakeholders in remote locations and your communication skills will be right up there along with your Excel capabilities, both of which you will consider a strength.
With strong problem-solving capability and exceptional attention to detail, you have a can-do attitude, your tech savvy and have gained experience within both financial and management accounting processes.
Along with having good exposure to accounting packages/ERP systems, of which JDE/SAP would be an advantage.
