Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other federal agencies, all over the world.
Working onsite, the Construction Manager will oversee the construction of a cogeneration power plant at NAVFAC’s Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC.
The contract duration is 14 months and is expected to start this summer. Our salary range for this position, based on the market data, is $100k to $120k per annum (range varies depending on experience and qualifications).
Key responsibilities:
Function as Site Safety and Health Officer and conduct inspection of work to ensure compliance with contract requirements
Create cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials and other project costs
Collaborate with clients, Project Managers, other construction management to determine budget and timeline
Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers
Maintain a daily log for the job site’s operations, reporting to management as necessary
Oversee the quality control of civil work activities
Review and monitor of project schedule
Scheduling and chairing of weekly project review and QC meetings
Prepare meeting minutes and weekly reports
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
Degree in Engineering or Construction Management Degree
Five years of combined experience as a Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, or Project Engineer on a similar construction project
Certified OSHA 30, EM 385-1-1
Completed the course entitled “Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors” and maintain a current certificate (can be done after hiring)
Proficient in both written and verbal English
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills is required
Must lawfully reside in the United States and be eligible for employment (Planate does not sponsor visas or work permits)
