Naseby – 2000 feet above worry level and known as the ‘jewel of the Maniototo’ is beautifully nestled below the Ida Range in Central Otago. It is surrounded by exotic forestry of Douglas fir, Larch, and Corsican pine and host to a huge recreational playground for walkers, runners, and bikers. It is home to the Southern Hemispheres only Olympic standard Curling rink, an outdoor ice rink and an ice luge.

The Maniototo Adventure Park is made up of these 3 existing attractions and a new all weatherluge. This is a unique opportunity to lead the merger of these facilities and unlock the potential of this new park.

The park is home to the only ice luge and the only indoor Olympic sized curling rink in the Southern Hemisphere. The outdoor skating rink which has been operating since 1992 is set in a natural surrounding with trees lining over half the rink and is a popular destination for ice skating and ice hockey training and competitions including the Erewhon Cup Ice Hockey Tournament.

The adventure park is opening on the 5th of August and the operating board have created a fantastic opportunity for a General Manager to join the organisation to ensure the future success and development of the Park.

The role

The site currently operates as 4 different separate entities. The purpose of the General Managers position will be to assist in the transition to one entity (the Maniototo Adventure Park) while also being responsible for the day to day management of the Park, ensuring all aspects of the Park’s operations delivered to the highest standard.

The GM is a figurehead for the Park and you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external parties. You must portray a good image to customers, visitors, and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a focus on customer service and have a broad skill set that will allow them to manage multiple disciplines and ultimately drive the business forward.
