Kotahi mano ngā rā hiki te oranga mo ngā whakatipuranga, i roto i ngā hapori
In the first 1000 days setting the path of wellness in our communities, for generations to come
Whānau Āwhina Plunket is committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of pēpi, tamariki and their whānau/family. We have committed to adopting a pro-equity approach where we give life to the Treaty principles of tino rangatiratanga, partnership, active protection, equity and options in our mahi/work to ensure healthy tamariki, confident whānau and connected communities. This journey is creating exciting career opportunities – If you would like to contribute to the important mahi we do, nau mai, haere mai.
Ensuring all tamariki are booked in for their B4 School Checks is an important part of this mahi. This is a comprehensive assessment of language, growth, behaviour, social and emotional development, and oral health across select regions in Aotearoa. These checks are done by our nurses in clinics, early childhood centres community spaces, marae, as well as home visits.
We’re seeking the support of a B4 School Administrator full time (38 hours a week) to join our team in Henderson on a permanent basis.
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
Getting ready to go to primary school is a special time in a young person’s development and often a busy time for whānau. To contribute towards our pro-equity journey and ensuring that our tamariki are well cared for, our B4 School Administrators reach out to whānau and caregivers of tamariki who have recently turned four years old to arrange a time and place that is convenient for them to have their B4 School check.
You will be responsible for the Waitemata/Auckland area, which means that a good understanding of the Auckland/Waitemata area – or phenomenal geographical awareness is vital.
He kōrero mōu | About you
As a critical part of our front-line team, being able to quickly build rapport and gain trust will be the key to your success. While ensuring each interaction with our whānau is a good one, you will also be confident in being able to work at pace and autonomously meet targets which have been sent.
Despite the locations we each look after, working as a team is critical, so you will be ready to pivot if one of your co-workers need support.
This is a predominantly outbound phone-based position, so confidence will be key. Prior experience working in an outbound call centre would be advantageous, alongside a hunger to be able to play a key part in our pro-equity journey by ensuring our communities thrive.
Ensuring the success of our pro-equity vision, you will be confident in engaging with local iwi and be able to effectively build relationship with whānau. We expect and encourage all Plunket people to live our values; kia māia – to be courageous, kia Māhaki – to be humble, kia manaaki – to care and kia tūhono – to stand in relationship.
