Polk Mechanical Company is expanding in DFW through a reputation for high performance and outstanding service. Now 17 years old, the company is continuing to set new milestones, and as a result, is adding new staff and raising the expectations of its team. We are looking for a Business Development Sales person who will work hands on with DFW group manager and pre-construction to develop a marketing and sales plans that will take Polk Mechanical to the next level and will establish additional growth in the DFW area.
Within 90 days, perform a market reconnaissance to assess the current customer base.
Use data from market reconnaissance with current business plan to develop a marketing and new customer attraction plan to address needs for business growth.
Aligned individual customer development plans with the requirements of business growth.
Focus on developing a strong and sustainable pipeline of opportunities based on strong relationships that provide a high degree of successfully awarded projects.
Evaluate and develop a strategy to target high potential targets and projects.
Develop a strategy based on relationships that provide opportunities to secure the best projects in the space with high percentages of success.
Determine status of client relationships and develop a process to increase appreciation.
Create program to increase the reputation of Polk Mechanical in the DFW marketplace.
Develop relationships with clients that provide Polk Mechanical advantages in the construction space.
Create network of relationships that establish Polk Mechanical as a great place to work.
Location: Main Office located the Grand Prairie, TX
Travel: Local travel in DFW area and occasional trips for clients. Most travel will be limited to 100-mile radius of DFW.
Pace: Constant changing priorities and quick turnaround is essential due to customer needs. Desire for strong visionary and mentoring style leadership and direction for both Sales and Marketing
Demographic diversity: DFW’s Construction Organization enjoys a wide range of diversification associated with ethnicity, culture, position qualifications, socio-economic background, geographical differences, white & blue collar, etc.
Planning & strategizing for specifically assigned customers/ clients or market segments
Understanding of Commercial Mechanical and Plumbing Systems
Experience in development of conceptual estimates
New customer relationship development
Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies:
Excellent communication skills (listening, written and verbal), as well as interpersonal skills
Does professional presentations effortlessly
Ability to assist in creation of proposals ranging from relatively simple to very complex
Ability to develop and foster relationships
Demonstrated experience in sales coordination and ability to work independently
Strategic thinking abilities
Team player as well as passion, drive and the ability to self-start
Strong analytical skills
Ability to train and educate others
Computer literate (MS Office, BlueBeam, PipeDrive)
Active driver’s license with a driving record representative of a safe driving history
