PPG Industries Looking for Warehouse Operator at Toronto, ON Full Time

Reporting to the Warehouse supervisor or team lead, the Order Picker is responsible for the physical receipt, storage, picking and shipping of paint, coatings and sundries products from both the Company’s suppliers and customers.

As an Order Picker you will:
Perform all duties according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all other established safety standards and company policies.

Correctly complete all documentation as per SOP and GMP requirements.

Notify management in the event of a departure from procedure, product defect, safety incident or other serious problem.

Perform safe, accurate and efficient picking and assembly of customer orders.

Safely operate forklift and pallet truck equipment.

Perform physical loading and unloading of products and goods from containers and tractor trailers.

Re-label or repackage product when and if necessary.

Maintain and performs housekeeping duties to company and safety standards.

Work effectively with team members in support of team and department goals.

Paint products weighing 10 to 70 lbs. some flammable and corrosive. Case of 4 gallons, pails and quarts

Use a RF scanner to pick orders. Productivity rate is 24 lines an hour.

Shift times: Day Shift – 6am to 2pm, Afternoon Shift – 2pm to 10pm. Night Shift 10pm to 6am Sunday to Thursday.

Hours of work 8 shifts with 40 minutes paid break time.

Warehouse is classed as chemical facility because we carry industrial paint. 80% is latex paint.

Forklift type is BT order picker – no working from heights
