Prana Family Health is looking for a full time Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and compassionate team dedicated to providing quality health services to our patients.
Our Medical Receptionist holds a pivotal role within the practice as they are the first point of contact for patients and visitors. We believe that patients should feel that they have been dealt with in a friendly, courteous manner and that all that can be done for them has been done – ‘going the extra mile’ is our philosophy.
Your Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Greeting patients, answering telephone calls and managing appointments in person, online and over the phone
- Processing incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Liaising between patients and doctors. Following through with patient enquiries/assisting patients where applicable
- Invoicing patients, processing medical insurance and ACC claims, and following up debtors
- Scanning medical correspondence daily and with accuracy
- Lending administrative support to the clinical team as directed by the Practice Manager
- Accurate recording of patient details, registration and ongoing maintenance of patient information.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience with MedTech32 is desirable but not essential as on-job training will be provided
- The ability to communicate empathetically with a diverse group of people
- A professional attitude and meticulous eye for detail
- Strong focus on customer service and the ability to make people feel comfortable
- Ability to maintain focus and prioritise in a fast paced, high-pressured environment while remaining positive, calm and friendly
- Ability to build rapport with patients, doctors and team members
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Reliable and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work both independently with initiative, and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and well presented
- Maintaining confidentiality in all dealings with patient information
- Must be flexible with hours
- Bilingual – will be an added advantage.
